BeWILDerwood is an outdoor adventure park that has won awards for being wild and creative. With magical treehouses and hints of intriguing characters, BeWILDerwood brings a curious difference to The Broads.
To put it simply, the idea is easy enough for a child to understand. The goal was to improve an already beautiful natural playground and encourage kids and their families to play outside in a traditional, creative, and healthy way.
When you spend a day at BeWILDerwood, you can spend as much time as you want with your family and friends exploring the wild Norfolk landscape and having fun. Building dens out of bracken and sticks, taking slow boat rides across Scaaaary Lake, dressing up and listening to magical stories every day, crossing Jungle Bridges and visiting Treehouses, zooming down Wobbly Wires and getting lost in the marvellous Muddle Maze, winding through peaceful pathways and revealing dangerous trails – this is a world with more than a little fairy dust.
BeWILDerwood is home to magical animals like Boggles, Twiggles, the Thornyclod Spider, and Crocklebogs, which eat only plants. The setting of the local author Tom Blofeld’s children’s book “A Boggle at BeWILDerwood” lets kids follow in the footsteps of the main character, Swampy, a 2ft Marsh Boggle who likes to go on adventures. There are tiny Twiggle villages up in the trees, and the life in the Boggle villages down in the marshes will catch your attention.
As you step inside the pages of Tom’s books – a character world of Boggles, Crocklebogs and Twiggles is brought to life in a quietly telling, yet unassuming way; leaving ample time and space for young people to realise their very own make believe. BeWILDerwood has lovingly-made, locally sourced food and drinks on hand; the Munch Bar, The Cosy Cabin and the Snack Shack serve everything from famous Norfolk ice cream to the award winning Norfolk Archers sausages in rolls.
